The University of Georgia and the University of Michigan each has its own professional education program and scholarly opportunities. These
programs are important sites for the Center’s efforts to improve professional education for the next generation of mathematics education
researchers. Other opportunities support the continued development of current researchers. The Center attends to the Ph.D. programs at each
institution, starting with working to attract an increased and varied pool of applicants and continuing by cultivating professional skills that
extend well beyond course work. These programs and opportunities are sites for experimentation and disciplined study within the context of the
larger university institutions..
